Seek medical advice if:
1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:

Seychelles drugmaker Cipla has launched the erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra.
A new treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) is being developed by the South African company, which is also selling the erectile dysfunction drug.
Cipla is developing a treatment for the condition. It is the second erectile dysfunction treatment to be launched in South Africa, after the first in 2015.
The drug is expected to be sold in more than 30 countries around the world, including the United States, with the market expected to grow by more than 70% during the next five years.
The drug has already been tested in the UK and China. The drug, made by the US firm, Cipla, was the first for the condition. It was also the first of its kind for erectile dysfunction treatments.
Cipla’s patent on the drug expires on December 31, 2016, at the earliest, and the drug has been subject to a patent challenge by pharmaceutical companies seeking to market their own versions of it.
The drug is being developed as an over-the-counter drug.
“Cipla is developing a treatment for erectile dysfunction,” said Cipla’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr John Smith. “This will be the first of its kind treatment for ED to be developed and tested in the South African market.”
The drug is currently approved for the treatment of ED in men over the age of 40. It is not recommended for women, as it has not been approved for use by women’s health experts.
It is not known if Cipla will be able to make the drug available for distribution in South Africa in the near future. The company is seeking a supply for three months starting January 1.
Cipla is based in Pretoria and the company is developing a treatment for ED that it will use in conjunction with a local sexual health clinic.
Cipla is the world’s second-biggest drugmaker behind Sanofi’s Upjohn brand of erectile dysfunction drug, Sanofi Aventis’ Viagra.
Cipla, based in Cape Town, is the second company in the world to be focused on developing a treatment for erectile dysfunction.
The company is developing the treatment with Sanofi as well as developing a treatment for the condition called a combination of two drugs: Cialis and Viagra, which have been approved for the treatment of ED in both adults and children.
Sanofi will be based in France and Sanofi Aventis in Mumbai. Cipla is the fourth largest drugmaker in the world, behind Novo Nordisk, which develops and commercialises drugs for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
The company is also developing a treatment called ‘Sildenafil’, which is a blood-pressure medication that is taken to lower blood pressure.
The treatment, which has a duration of at least 36 hours, will be sold in pharmacies across South Africa.
Cipla is also developing an oral tablet form of the drug called sildenafil, which will be available by prescription in the United States and in other countries for people with low blood pressure to treat ED.
Cipla is developing an oral tablet form of the drug. It has been tested in the treatment of erectile dysfunction for over a decade and is currently testing in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
